COACHING
BASEBALL
I was drafted my senior year of high school by the New York Yankees in the 29th round of the 2003 Amateur Baseball Draft. I played in Single A Gulf Coast League for the New York Yankees and in extended Spring Training for the Colorado Rockies. Before deciding to play professionally I had signed to play baseball at Florida State University. What makes me a good baseball coach is that frankly I was not the most talented athlete. I had to work to figure out how to produce the athleticism and skills that many others had the professional level had naturally. These challenged necessitated that I make breakthroughs and have insights into the nature of the skills involved in the sport. Such insights allow me to be an effective instructor. I teach infield and hitting and can also work with you on the mental aspect of the game as well. One of my greatest pleasures as an instructor has been helping children labeled as “unathletic” by their peers to become confident athletes.
SINGING
I’m an operatic baritone singer and have had the privilege of studying with and being around some of the best opera singers today. Check out my singing page for clips of me performing. If you are interested in taking some voice lessons, let me know.
LIFE COACH
This is really a work in progress for me and I will chronicle my progress here on this site. I am currently taking the Advanced Coaching Program Level 1 course at Aletheia founded by Steve March. I have attended and completed the Experiencing the Nature of Being and Transforming Your Experience of Life workshops with Peter Ralston and Brendan Lea at the Cheng Hsin Center. I am Zen practitioner, and I recently attended my first Sesshin at the Korinji monastery in Wisconsin.
I began noticing at a young age that as much as I enjoyed accomplishing things like becoming a professional athlete, singer, and attorney, what I enjoyed just as much, if not more, was helping others to navigate the difficulties in their lives. This inspired me to begin deeply contemplating not only achievement and “self-improvement” but most importantly the nature of the human condition. Frankly, I started by experimenting on myself, moving from sports to music to law, stretching myself beyond boundaries to discover more. Through making the transition between each of these ventures, I’ve accumulated practical skills which when combined with the deep contemplation and meditation work I’ve engaged in gives me a powerful perspective to help you navigate the challenges of your life.
My goal is to help you get from point A to point B. To not only map out a practical plan of how to get you there, but to also to work with you wholistically on your very being. Please check out my podcast and my blogs and consider whether working with me will be of value to you.
